The model
How a gift becomes completed service
We pay skilled contractors for real work — not unpaid volunteer-only labor as the main path to help.
- Identify a concrete need. We listen for household and community needs across America — repairs, safety, access, and work that restores dignity.
- Vet a skilled contractor. We match the need with a contractor who can do the job well. Trades skill and accountability matter.
- Fund the job. Designated gifts pay for completed service — not vague promises or unfinished intentions.
- Verify completion. We look for finished work: the repair done, access restored, and the job closed with care.
- Report back to partners. As projects complete, we share what we can verify — without invented metrics or inflated counts.
Why we pay contractors
Volunteer partnership is welcome, but our core model is to fund skilled labor so help arrives as dignified, completed service. Paying contractors honors trades work, supports quality, and creates accountability.
